Smith has successfully obtained a Norwich order, a special mechanism which allow courts to compel third parties to provide documents and information to a potential plaintiff for the purposes of commencing a lawsuit. In this case, the Norwich order required third party operators of online platforms to disclose information necessary to identify perpetrators of an online defamatory campaign.
